General format for APA dissertation/thesis.
- Your APA dissertation/thesis should be double-spaced and typed on standard-sized paper.
- The margins must be set to one inch on each side.
- Your APA dissertation/thesis should have a title page.
- Your work should have a running manuscript head located in the upper right side corner of every page, which provides a brief version of the title of the paper and a page number.
- The paper’s pages should be numbered serially, starting with the title page, a part of the manuscript header placed in the upper right side of every page.
- There should be one space after punctuation marks like a period. It allows editors to preserve space in the journals.
Sections included in the paper.
1. Literature review is a summary of what scientific literature tells about your question or topic. It contains the next sections:
a) title page;
b) introduction section;
c) the list of references.
2. Experimental report comprises the next sections:
a) the title page;
b) the abstract;
c) the introduction;
d) the method;
e) the results;
f) the discussion;
g) the references;
h) the appendixes when they are necessary;
i) tables and figures if necessary.
3. Other papers. When your paper is neither an experimental report nor a literature review, be sure that you hold on the guidelines for this assignment or the editing guidelines provided to you by some journals, and you need to comprise as many sections as you consider are appropriate to representing your material.
